In 2007, Donna Cherry and Stephen Kannangara set out to create a law firm that would provide services to the whole community. Starting small, but with a vision to a broader offering, they initially specialised in family and property work.
The following year they were joined by Darcy Thomson and Stephen Bray, with John Yoon joining in 2009 and Brent Selwyn in 2015.
Having expanded the business, Donna left the practice in 2013 and Darcy in 2015, while after 14 years, Stephen retired, leaving a thriving practice in capable hands.
Since 2007, the firm has grown from three people to the 30 plus strong team we have today which includes seven Partners, a number of Solicitors, Legal Executives and our support team. Our area of practice has expanded too beyond our original offering to encompass just about all of life’s legal situations including elder law, estate management, trust management and immigration.
In 2023, we made the decision to move the firm from a partnership to a company, but we still hold the same values and the same principles we have been operating with since 2007.
We are proud to provide legal service to our Christchurch and Canterbury community, and aim to make the legal journey straightforward.
